Writing from the web of life
A workshop of deep observation and writing, rooted in Deep Ecology,
reconnecting us to the living world and inviting us to see with new eyes

Writing from the web of life is a simple yet profound practice, guided by Hannelore from Wild, Wild & Botanical, that invites us to seeing with new eyes. It calls us into a process of discovery of collective connection and transforms the way we think about the world and our place in it.
This workshop is rooted in Deep Ecology* and weaves together guided writing, meditation, and circle sharing to help us tune into the quiet intelligence of the more-than-human world, within the city. It invites us to slow down, listen differently, and remember our place within a vast web of interconnection, where every being holds value and meaning.
*The phrase “deep ecology” was coined by the Norwegian philosopher Arne Naess in 1973. The eight principles of Deep Ecology (crafted by Naess and George Sessions) acknowledge that all life forms and systems have the right to live and flourish, regardless of their benefit to human beings, and that the needs of human beings are no more important than those of other beings. When we see the world in this way, we have a moral responsibility to help implement change to heal and sustain life on Earth.

ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Hannelore Mattheus (°1977) is a wildcrafter and an herbalist specializing in women's health. She's an ardent advocate of cycle awareness, driven to change the narrative around menopause and to provide you as a woman with purposeful information so you can reconnect with the wisdom of your body and reclaim ownership over your own health.
For a long time, Hannelore was dissociated, living more in her head than in her body. This shifted when the world of yoga and somatic meditation crossed her path, and changed profoundly when she started doing cycle awareness. In the Drôme region of France, where Hannelore has been living for some time, she found the perfect place to grow her roots and share with others her fascination of wilderness, the human body and the magical plant world.
Plants are her lifelong companions and allies, providing both physical support and inviting her to practice presence. Hannelore works with plants from an embodied perspective and offers individual counseling, retreats and workshops to reconnect with (our) nature. Cultivating connection is what she strives for, both with the natural world and with and within humans. The plant, the body and cyclicity are central to her work.
